Blender is a nice peace of software, and what is more important it is free and opensource. You might think that well it still isn't Maya, but you can see it has allready been used to make nice animation. It's scripts are based on Python which you might not be familiar with. Luckily there's a lot of ready scripts on the net you can use to get started. |
